Do I need to be a Sharon resident to access these resources?

No you don’t! This is for community members in and around Sharon. Many of the formal programs only provide resources to non-Sharon citizens and community-driven resources are open to all, regardless of where are you from.

Do I need to be a US citizen?

No you do no not! While some resources may require proof of residence, you largely do not need to provide proof of citizenship. You will never be required to prove your citizenship in community driven when accessing our community-driven resources. We will not ask for your citizenship information and we will not share it with anyone if you tell us.

Do I need to provide proof of income, residence, or hardship in order to access these resources?

All of the community resources we offer have no requirements - we are neighbors looking to help one another! Information about each individual program’s requirements will be laid out for you.

I’ve never accessed resources like this before - where do I start?

You can start wherever serves your most immediate needs - there are lots of resources that can provide immediate help and others that can take longer but offer more long-term support. I feel guilty or embarrassed about accessing these resources - are you sure it’s okay I use them?

You are not the only person going through this or who feels this way; there is nothing to be ashamed of and you should feel empowered to engage with and rely on your community and its resources, no matter what they are

Can I give you money or clothes or food etc?

Each community resource has information on the best way to help a specific organization or community resource. If you would like to give money that will be directly distributed to community members, please email us at sharonmutualaid@gmail.com
